Watching his father and uncles diligently grow Ly Son onions and garlic, and inspired by love for his homeland, C\u00f4ng dreamed of building his own Ly Son garlic brand. In 2016, Dori garlic officially launched.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__body cms-body\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><iframe title=\"Starting a business with L\u00fd S\u01a1n aspirations\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YNEqCKjADVQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"article__body cms-body\">\n<p>L\u00fd S\u01a1n has long been known as the capital of the \u201cGarlic Kingdom.\u201d Fields of onions and garlic are covered in white sand and bordered by lava rocks\u2014volcanic deposits. Of the island district's nearly 10 km2, as much as 1\/3 is used to grow onions and garlic.<\/p>\n<p>Ph\u1ea1m V\u0103n C\u00f4ng was born in 1987 on L\u00fd S\u01a1n Island. Watching his elders diligently grow L\u00fd S\u01a1n onions and garlic while trade remained small-scale, C\u00f4ng long dreamed of building his own L\u00fd S\u01a1n garlic brand. Throughout university he continually explored and learned. After many failures, Dori garlic officially launched in 2016, with total investment to date of nearly 1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Dori means Dream of R\u00e9: the dream of C\u00f9 Lao R\u00e9 Island\u2014R\u00e9 is the former name of L\u00fd S\u01a1n Island. I believe Dori will help me convey the aspirations of the people of L\u00fd S\u01a1n to friends around the world and help unite the L\u00fd S\u01a1n community,\u2019 C\u00f4ng shared confidently.<\/p>\n<p>With guidance from the L\u00fd S\u01a1n island district authorities, C\u00f4ng is currently working with local farmers to develop an organic garlic cultivation model to increase production. He is also carrying out a province-commissioned project to research and produce black garlic on a large scale. Black garlic is garlic that becomes a nutritious functional food after fermentation.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There are many explanations for the outstanding quality of L\u00fd S\u01a1n garlic. Perhaps its greater value and quality, and the affection consumers have for it, come from the difficult, labor-intensive process. If you have the opportunity to go into the fields with the farmers, you will see how hard they work to grow each bulb of garlic,\u2019 C\u00f4ng said.<\/p>\n<p>After nearly half a year of tireless tending, the result is gleaming white garlic bulbs infused with the pungency of the sea, the red basalt soil, and the sun over burning sand.
