Life needs little stories to help you gain valuable experience, or at least bring a little joy amid its many demands.
1. Mark Twain and the Arrogant Woman
At a party, Mark Twain sat opposite a woman. Out of politeness, he said to her: “You are very beautiful!”
The woman showed no appreciation and instead said haughtily, “Unfortunately, I cannot offer you a similar compliment!”
Mark Twain calmly said: “No problem. You can do as I did and just tell a lie.”
After hearing this, the woman was so ashamed that she lowered her head and could not say a word.
A Small Suggestion: The stone you throw will always trip you yourself. If you speak cruelly, you will ultimately bring shame upon yourself.

2. A mouse falling into a rice jar
A mouse fell into a rice jar that was still half full. This unexpected accident delighted it beyond words. After making sure there was no danger, it began a life of eating and sleeping, then sleeping and eating, inside the rice jar.
Very soon, the rice jar was almost empty. Yet the mouse still could not resist the temptation of the grains and stayed inside. Finally, when all the rice was gone, it realized it could no longer jump out; the will was there, but the strength was not.
A Small Suggestion: Our lives may seem peaceful, but dangers actually lurk everywhere. Maintain a stable outlook on life so you know how to consider safety and danger.

3. The rabbit fishing with carrots
On the first day, the little rabbit went fishing and caught nothing. On the second day, it went fishing again, with the same result.
On the third day, as soon as it arrived, a large fish leaped out of the pond and shouted, “If you dare use carrots as fish food again, I will eat you!”
A Small Suggestion: Everything you give is what you want to give, not necessarily what the other person wants; therefore, in their eyes, it may have no value at all. Consider others so the value of your life becomes more meaningful.

4. A cancer patient “believes” the operation succeeded
I have a friend who is a doctor. Once, while operating on a cancer patient, he discovered only after making the incision that the inflamed area could not be removed. He had no choice but to close the incision and explain the situation to the patient.
The patient came from the countryside and did not understand medical terminology, so after hearing the explanation, he firmly believed he would recover after surgery. The doctor had no other choice but to discharge him.
At a follow-up examination a year later, the disease had indeed been completely cured, and the cancer cells had entirely disappeared.
A Small Suggestion: A cheerful, optimistic mindset is the best surgical method.

5. Marital affinity
That year, he was waiting for a friend in a café. A woman approached and asked: “Are you the person Aunt Vương introduced for a blind date?”
He looked up at her and suddenly realized she was exactly his type. Thinking, “Since this is already a misunderstanding, why not go along with it all the way?” he quickly replied: “That's right. Please sit down.”
On their wedding day, he told his wife the truth. She smiled and said, “I was not there for a blind date either. I just used it as an excuse to talk to you…”
A Small Suggestion: When the opportunity arrives, do not hesitate; seize it firmly.

6. The beauty queen of the ugly class
The female students held an open vote to select the class beauty queen. Tiểu Mai was ordinary-looking, but she stood up and told everyone, ‘If I am chosen, a few years from now, all of you ladies here can proudly tell your husbands, “When I was at university, I was even prettier than the class beauty queen!”’
As a result, she was elected with an almost unanimous vote.
A Small Suggestion: Persuading others to support you does not necessarily require proving how much better you are than others, but showing them that because of you, they can become better and achieve more.

7. The old man who threw away his shoes
While the train was traveling along a highway, Gandhi accidentally dropped a newly purchased shoe out the window. Everyone around him felt sorry for him. Suddenly, he threw the other shoe out the window as well.
Gandhi’s action astonished everyone, so he calmly explained: “However expensive this shoe may be, it is no longer of any use to me. If someone can find the pair, perhaps they might even fit!”
A Small Suggestion: For suffering that is destined to be irreversible, it is better to let go early.

8. Two tigers with different fates
There were two tigers, one in a cage and one in the wild. Both thought their circumstances were poor and envied the other, so they decided to exchange places.
At first, both were very happy, but soon afterward both tigers died: one of hunger and the other of sadness.
A Small Suggestion: Sometimes people turn a blind eye to their own happiness while constantly watching others' happiness. In fact, what you have is precisely what others long for.
