On Entrepreneur, he shared how he became a millionaire at just 24.
After reading dozens of books, I quickly realized that schools did not teach many subjects, such as time management, making money, decision-making, goal-setting, and building and maintaining relationships. So I began speaking about this topic—the gaps in our national education system,
Devoting Myself Fully to This Idea Made Me a Millionaire at Age 24.
1.Become a Student
Whenever I have free time, I find ways to read and learn something new. On my way to work, school, or the gym, I listen to the radio, trying to remember as much as possible. I also attended 20 seminars in my first year.
My thinking began to change as I reflected on myself and those around me. I realized I was dissatisfied with my position. But how could I change it? Although I was attending university, I was not sure education was the answer, especially since I wanted to run my own business.
2. Decide to do something
I dropped out of my Master of Business Administration program and began giving talks for free. In the first 2 years, I spoke at 500 events, mostly without pay.
After working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, I began to feel sick worrying about how to earn money. I lived on credit cards and sold books door to door. I even became an experienced salesperson by having to sell everything in my home.
3. Do everything possible
Initially, I thought success only came to people older than me. But after entering my 20s, I became less certain of that. Most of my audience were 2 or 3 times my age. I assumed they knew more than I did, but I still showed up. Most talks lasted 2-3 hours. Sometimes it even rained or snowed.
Once, I went to New York and found after my speech that my car had been towed for parking in the wrong place. I also had to pay a fine. That day cost me USD 800.
4. Pay the price
Besides speaking, I also sold books door to door. People usually slammed the door and bought nothing. But sometimes I could sell 10 books an hour. Occasionally, I wondered when it would ever end.
Once, I had 5 speaking engagements on 4 different topics. I had to stay awake from 4 a.m. one day until 6 a.m. the next. I had no money or food, but I had knowledge. I knew most hotels served cold appetizers at events like these. And that was my meal.
5. Competence creates confidence
In just one year, I went from someone who hesitated and stuttered to speaking continuously for 20 minutes without notes. As my skills improved, so did my confidence. By year 2, I could give presentations all day in front of hundreds of people.
Gradually, my finances improved and I no longer needed a credit card. Even so, I still occasionally paid my monthly bills late.
6. Find ways to increase income
Wanting to escape this situation, I started a side business called Dignify Designs. The company grew faster than expected. The idea came when I prepared a job application for a friend for free. After getting the job, she paid me 25 USD and told all her friends about me. That was how I got customers.
As the company grew, I hired about ten more people in the first year alone. We help people write and publish books, launch websites and make use of social media. Since starting the company, we have helped thousands of people establish their careers.
7. Resolve awkward situations
Sometimes I wondered whether I should develop Dignify Designs into a million-dollar business or continue pursuing a career spreading the message of proper education.
The answer is both. With Dignify Designs, my income increased rapidly. Naturally, as the business succeeded, my reputation also grew and more people came to know me. My speeches, articles, and videos became more popular too.
8. A breakthrough will come
Many turning points occurred during my work. Instead of reaching only hundreds or thousands of people each month, I can now reach millions. After all the blood, sweat, and tears, it feels like a dream come true.
9. Money will come if you work from passion
I realized that if I did what I loved, the money would eventually come. When you touch people's hearts rather than their wallets, you become even more successful.
Fortunately, I have the freedom to work whenever I want. I can sleep all day or take a whole year off. When you do what you love and love what you do, you feel freer.
10. My Biggest Secret
No one knows what the future will hold. We can only go as far as our abilities allow. However, you must have faith in yourself, your community, and everyone else. Everything will turn out as you want if you believe in it.
How can you find answers for your life? I will tell you my biggest secret: Belief is the greatest strength. It sounds simple, but it is true. Once you take action, you will never fear that you are pursuing the impossible. Everything will eventually be accomplished.
If you believe in yourself, others will believe in you too.
