Why Is Tesla Called the Apple of the Auto Industry?

If Tesla makes electric cars that fully charge in 5 minutes, the entire traditional car industry will go bankrupt.

Tesla is causing a stir in the United States by producing electric cars that buyers line up to order. This recalls the queues of people hoping to be the first to own Apple's iPhone.

Eugene Groysman, Marketocracy's Apple research specialist, calls this company the “Apple of the automotive industry.” Eugene bought 6% of Tesla's shares when the automaker's stock price fell. His decision came from the belief that Tesla has the qualities of the Ford Model T and will change the game in the global automotive industry.

Eugene Groysman lives in the small town of Milwaukee (USA). Tesla cars began appearing around town and caught his attention. The town is not as glamorous as Chicago or New York, suggesting that Teslas are extremely economical. Eugene believes new technologies must be truly effective before attempting to break barriers in traditional industries.

Tesla shows it can break through limits that other manufacturers have not overcome. Both Nissan and Toyota make electric vehicles, but they only add to existing models. Tesla creates different models for every segment, from expensive sports sedans like the Tesla Model S and the Tesla Model X crossover to, most recently, the affordable Model 3.

Tesla's second attraction is its batteries' strong energy-storage capacity, allowing greater range per charge. Tesla vehicles can travel over 300 km on a full charge, something very few manufacturers can achieve.

Batteries and chargers are the most important parts of an electric vehicle. Improvements to these systems reduce operating costs. However, most electric vehicle manufacturers face the barrier of battery prices: electric cars cost more than comparable petrol cars, making buyers harder to attract.

Tesla's efforts to increase production capacity, combined with U.S. government subsidies, bring the Model 3's price to just 35.000 USD, giving more people the opportunity to own one.

Technical barriers also make users less enthusiastic about electric vehicles. Battery range is short and charging takes longer compared with gasoline vehicles. If Tesla can reduce charging time to 5 minutes, the traditional automotive industry will be completely destroyed.

To do this, Tesla plans to build high-power charging stations across the United States, expected to fully charge a vehicle in 30 minutes. That is still quite a long time compared with gasoline-powered cars. Reducing charging time is therefore the company’s top priority in the coming period. Charging stations and batteries have long been regarded as the biggest barriers for traditional automakers.

Tesla is also building the world's largest lithium-ion battery factory. Once operational, battery pack costs will fall by 30%. The company also tries to reduce costs by eliminating intermediary dealerships and selling directly to users. Of course, this will put sales staff out of work and face opposition in some localities, but users will benefit from the policy.

If Apple revolutionized the smartphone world, forcing giants such as Nokia and Motorola into bankruptcy, Tesla is doing the same in the car industry.

Tesla is revolutionizing the global automotive industry. Just as Apple created distinctive products such as the iPod and iPhone, Tesla offers highly intelligent, environmentally friendly products such as the Model S and Model 3. It provides cars that are inexpensive to operate, smart, and easy to use.

Elon Musk became a technology billionaire whose fortune grows daily. The thinking he applies to his products resembles what Steve Jobs did for Apple. Musk is directing all his resources toward creating a new generation of cars to replace fossil-fuel vehicles.

Tesla Motors is an American electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2003. The manufacturer drew attention after unveiling the Tesla Roadster, the first all-electric sports car.

The company's second vehicle was the Model S luxury electric sedan, followed by the Model X crossover. Most recently, it introduced the affordable Model 3, starting at just USD 35,000, creating a frenzy among US customers. Many queued to be among the first owners. The Model 3 has now sold 115,000 units since orders opened.

Previously, the Model S also brought Tesla success by selling 100,000 units after 3.5 years on the market. It was the world's bestselling electric car in 2015.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, says the company's mission is to provide affordable electric cars to users.

There are currently only 4 Tesla Model S cars in Vietnam. This model is quite rare because the infrastructure is inadequate and there are no charging stations. However, the Model S is popular in China and some Western countries.
