As announced earlier, the 2nd “Start-up Bridge” coffee-sharing session, with the theme “Have a great ideal….what next?
The gathering took place in a warm, intimate atmosphere at Tee cafe, 271/9 Nguyễn Trọng Tuyển, Ward 10, Phú Nhuận District, HCMC, a refreshing setting well suited to today's meetup. It is a shame some of you could not attend this time, so let us look back at it together.
The expert joining our in-person gathering this time has extensive experience in entrepreneurship
Mr. Christopher Zobrist has run a business with revenue of USD 2 million and is Chairman of SAVVi Investors Forum. He came to Vietnam in 2006 and founded 6 different joint ventures there. He also has 5 years of experience teaching Entrepreneurship in Vietnam at institutions such as RMIT Saigon South campus, Vietnam National University Hanoi, and VNU’s International University in HCMC…
Start ………….
The first words are always greetings. Everyone sits closely together, warm as a family, removing all barriers. Sitting here, we share one determination and belief: “Successful entrepreneurship.”
Participants then heard expert Mr. Christopher Zobrist share his entrepreneurial journey, which began 30 years ago when he was a 4-year-old boy whose first business was picking oranges in his garden to sell to passersby. “When I was 4 years old. I had to pick the oranges in my garden and sold to passers….” Mr. Christopher Zobrist recalled. This fascinating story taught us a lesson in “finding potential customers,” the theme running throughout the meetup.
One rule the expert particularly values is “80-20”
80% of total revenue <= 20% of total customers (key customer group)
Therefore, you need to segment customers and care for each group's specific needs; become a “trusted friend, confidant, and appreciative partner” to your customers.
Everyone enthusiastically discussed in groups the scenarios presented by the expert.
Each answer brought interesting knowledge people discovered for themselves, accompanied by the reminder “Action feedback”: act now, because there is no room for hesitation or indecision on the road to success.
After the sharing session, many participants better understood the steps needed to start a business. Some would immediately act on long-held ideas; others resolved to revive businesses that had failed…
