CONNECT WITH A LAWYER
Hồ Văn Tâm, 30, from Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa, and his colleagues developed and launched a startup application connecting clients with lawyers, who are ready to advise clients anytime, anywhere.
The app is called AloGuru. According to Tâm, with many startup applications developing and new businesses emerging, demand for legal advice is growing. Many other pressing social issues also need advice, such as marriage and family matters, disputes, civil proceedings and criminal cases…
‘However, a very large gap currently exists between clients and lawyers. Clients are often concerned about cost, struggle to find the right person, or worry about privacy. They generally seek a lawyer only once a matter becomes serious, making the cost very high. Clients therefore need an easy, friendly, trustworthy, effective, and more affordable connection. In particular, they should be able to obtain advice anywhere and at any time to overcome legal obstacles in life and business. That is why my colleagues and I conceived the AloGuru application to help clients find lawyers and receive effective advice,’ Tâm said.
To build AloGuru as it is today, Tâm and his colleagues spent considerable time researching market size, competitors and user habits. ‘Law is a field where few apply technology. In particular, lawyers advising clients through video calls (calling by video—reporter) are almost unheard of in Vietnam. That is why we decided to explore this field,’ Tâm added.
According to Tâm, although many competitors are also starting businesses in law, their approach remains manual, such as question-and-answer consultations where clients write questions and lawyers reply by email, telephone appointment scheduling, telephone consultations, or in-person office visits… rather than direct consultations by video call.
Meanwhile, AloGuru offers a friendly, easy-to-use interface, smart appointment reminders, and support across platforms: web and mobile apps on both iOS and Android. Customers book lawyers through the fully automated app. They simply create an account, select a lawyer specializing in the area where they need advice, and book an appointment. The system instantly notifies the lawyer through the app and email. The lawyer accepts or may reschedule if the time is unsuitable. At the appointment time, lawyer and client enter the app to speak by video call. They can also chat during the consultation and, notably, send attachments to review contracts or provide evidence directly during the session.
