Dear students,
First, YUP! Academy sincerely thanks participants, Start Ups, and Yuppies for your interest and for generously giving your time to the Academy.
In 2014, YUP! Institute received nearly 800 applications from people who wanted to start businesses and become owners. YUP! Institute recognized their enthusiasm and determination to take charge of their careers. Although it tried hard to accept and support every project, the Institute could accept only the 311 most feasible, practical projects capable of contributing humane values to the community, providing training support and accompanying participants as their projects developed. This number of startup projects also exceeded the expectations of the Institute and the Sponsorship Council.
Nay, YUP! Institute would like to inform you, in 01 more month (12/2014), the Program X-Start Up startup support for projects in Ho Chi Minh City will end. Le reason is that the number of projects receiving support Fas reached the required number of applications so the Program will end earlier than anticipated by the Institute and the Sponsorship Council.
Dthough the program has been running for only 01 year, projects are still in the Coaching stage: entering real-world practice and gaining experience, while the Institute continues to closely follow them alongside advice and support from instructors who are veteran managers and directors in various fields. Some projects only completed the Training stage this past October; participants are still actively preparing for the next step, applying experts' insights to turn that experience into knowledge of their own through practice.
Most students have positive views of the course. Through it, they gain motivation and confidence to pursue their own projects and feel more secure with YUP!’s support over the next 02 years. Some students realized after studying that their projects were not yet truly feasible and needed further preparation. They boldly put their own business plans on hold to join another team through YUP!’s connections, continuing in business as cofounders, building wealth with their teammates while accumulating experience for their own future careers.
The Academy was also impressed by many very young registrants. Some were just 19, had finished high school and gained university admission, but chose entrepreneurship immediately after leaving school. There were also thoughtful, heartfelt reflections: “Why do Vietnamese people queue for McDonald when Vietnamese bánh mì is delicious and famous? I want to build a system where foreigners queue to buy Vietnamese bánh mì.” An oil and gas engineer shared his project: “Food today feels unsafe; everything seems to contain chemicals, and there are constant reports of cancer… It is frightening. I want to build a business providing each household with a clean vegetable-growing system, so people can grow their own food safely and hygienically, save money, and, especially, do it without soil…”

In 2014, YUP! Institute was proud to incubate and support many deeply humane and meaningful projects. Although its facilities were not yet ideal, it did its utmost within its means to support students with air-conditioned classrooms, projectors, drinking water, coffee and teaching materials… all included in their scholarships without extra fees. YUP! also initially supported projects with office space, logos and advice on markets, law and tax…
Only 01 month remains for the nearly 27 project applications left for the final scholarship review class in 12/2014. The Academy hopes to continue incubating strong projects and plans so it can announce a highly successful conclusion to the scholarship program.
